#  January 2022 GMAS Release

 The January release will be available at the start of business on Friday January 14th 2022. The primary focus of this release was in support of [NIH’s implementation of the updated Other Support and Biosketch format pages](https://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/notice-files/NOT-OD-21-110.html). Enhancements in support of this include:

##  Just-in-Time request

- This new request type was added to support the NIH just in time process.
- The new request type is available from any segment where the segment status is pending, and the initial proposal/competing renewal is in submitted to sponsor status.
- There can only be 1 Just-in-Time request type per segment at this time.

####  **New secured "Other foreign support and activies" document repository at the person profile level**

- New document repository added to house and track reviews of outside foreign contracts and agreements
- Rules for who can access the new repository are as follows:

####  **Updated title of "Current and pending support" download from person profile to "Active and pending projects"**

- Research team members with future end dates will now show correctly on the report
- The report has been updated to correctly handle the new Just-in-time request type
- Added additional columns: 
    - Key personnel flag (Yes/No)
    - Investigator flag (Yes/No)
    - Sponsor approval required to change effort (Yes/No)
    - Committed effort in person months (calculated)

####  **New enhanced current and pending download that combines GMAS, OAIR, and DUA data** 

- Title of download from person profile is "Other support and activities"
- Download with additional tabs is only available to the individual logged in from their own person profile.
    
    
    - Created direct url which will download new Other support and activities download without navigating through GMAS 
        - <https://gmas.harvard.edu/gmas/othersupportdownload>

##  Unique entity identifier (UEI) no.

- A new field was added to the internal and external organization home and edit screens in GMAS to include a new field to support the transition from DUNS number to Unique entity identifier number. 
    - For external organization this number is only editable by those who have organization editor permissions in GMAS.
    - The field is visible to everyone in GMAS.
- All existing UEI numbers associated with DUNS listed in GMAS have been imported into GMAS.

##  Research team requests

- Added a new panel to the segment research team list screen to display end dated research team members.
- Limited confirming the research team to only be available when a notice has been logged, or an at-risk request has been fully authorized.
- Updated rules when confirming the research team to display the Just-in-Time version if there is a Just-in-Time request.

##  Technical

####  **Performance issues**

- Updated the queries used on project search, reassigning portfolios, person portfolio, and the notices dashboard in support of improving performance issues.

####  **Security issues**

- Addressed security vulnerabilities in GMAS and tool-kit.
