GMAS Release 1_49

The April 2019 GMAS release will be available on April 8, 2019. This release features redesigned proposal budget and research team entry, improvements to the requests dashboard, and a new section for non-federal indirect cost rates.

 

Proposal Budget

  • Viewing and editing budgets for initial proposals  and competing renewals has been completely redesigned and streamlined
    • 18 existing GMAS pages have been consolidated into 2 pages
    • All budget periods are displayed and edited at the same time
    • Budgets in GMAS now only are viewed and entered as total direct/indirect amounts
    • All options for indirect cost rate entry have been maintained - rates can be entered for the whole budget, by budget period, or by fiscal year

Research team

  • Viewing, adding and editing research team members has been consolidated to one page for all requests
  • Appointment dates, salary, and fringe have been removed from the research team
  • Proposed effort is now entered and displayed as person months instead of percent
  • Entry of proposed effort is now required for all research team members
  • Fixed an issue with TBD people not showing correctly

 

Requests dashboard improvements

  • Added the ability to save a default starting setup on the dashboard ("My default filters")
    • The starting tab, filters, and sorting can be set
    • Filters can be cleared or reset to a user's default
  • Improved filtering options for Tub and Org
    • Filtering can now be set for multiple values or ranges
  • Fixed an issue where the "Date routed" wasn't showing correctly in some cases
  • Removed the link on the GMAS homepage to the old request dashboard

Other changes to initial proposals

  • Added "Central reviewer" to the proposal homepage for view and edit
  • Converted "Edit school questions" page to newer GMAS look and feel
  • Added "Opportunity number" back to federal proposals as an optional text entry field
  • Converted pages for create and edit subagreement to newer GMAS look and feel

 

Financial deliverables

  • Updated the Financial Deliverable Dashboard download so that department users with more limited security can download
  • Added "On hold" action to deliverables in "Corrections needed" status
  • Improved page performance for deliverables with many accounts
  • Fixed an issue where pending subagreement amounts were not totaling correctly
  • Automatic adjustments for overspent deliverables now take pending subagreement dollars into account

 

Organization

  • Added a new panel for non-federal organizations showing the last 5 years of awarded overhead rates
  • Added the most recent risk status to the closed risk assessment panel

Other

  • Person lookup fields that are disabled now have darker text to make them easier to read (especially for confirm and edit research team)
  • Removed the "interfaculty" question from creation flow for supplement requests (IFI can still be added after creating the request)
  • PI and Sponsor in the segment header now link to the corresponding home pages
  • Fixed an issue with page layout on some screens in the IE11 browser
  • Fixed an issue with new account setup to correctly set the balance forward attribute for new funds

 

Technical

  • Code cleanup and removal due to Grants.gov system to system retirement
