May 2024 GMAS Release

The May 2024 release will be available on Friday, May 17. The focus of this release includes integration with the Research Administration Portal in support of the Policy on Participation in Foreign Talent recruitment Programs, adding ORCID iD to the person profile, adding integrations with Agreements and Data Safety to show relationships of records across those applications with GMAS, as well as other enhancements and bug fixes.

Malign Foreign Talent Recruitment Program (MFTRP)

Reason:  To support the new Malign Foreign Talent Recruitment Program (MFTRP) attestation process in support of new sponsor and University requirements.

Enhancements: 

  • All request research team screens and the Change PI request screen will show MFTRP status for members of the research team
  • The screens that will include the MFTRP information are:
    • Initial proposal and Competing renewal research team screen
    • Continuation and Supplement research team screen
    • Confirm/Edit research team and JIT request screen
    • Change PI request home screen

Agreements and Data Safety

Reason:  To make HURON Agreements and Data safety information visible on GMAS segments.

Enhancements: 

  • Updated Segment Home Key Information section to include IRB, Agreements and Data Safety Flags
  • Updated Approvals screen to include Agreements and Safety data from HURON

Other enhancements

  • Display ORCID iD on person profile by connecting with Person Data Service API
  • Added link to account comments by final figure on Deliverable Screen
  • Updated central roles on the lock and route screen to now be drop downs instead of look ups

Bug fixes 

  • Removed Send Reminder button from Participation agreement screens
  • Reworked events and to-dos related to central roles
  • Fixed bug related to incorrectly end dating people when signatures are edited resulting in inability to sign​
  • Updated converted requests from 1_63 to reference segment start and end instead of request start and end

Technical updates​ 

  • Created Initial Index for document search in GMAS
  • Added a new admin module page to initiate search and export of document text
  • System integrations:
    • Integrated with Research Admin Portal to show MFTRP attestation
    • Added a new job that retrieves ORCID iD and person name information from person data service from PDS after IDM jobs are complete
    • Created new nightly interface job to Call API for Agreements to populate new table for Agreement records
    • Created new nightly interface job to Call API for Data Safety to populate new table for Data safety records
  • Added a new admin module page to call Person API to update individual records
  • Validated ApigeeX Production Cutover
  • Confirmed access to ApigeeX environments
  • Reduced complicity for InternalOrgDetailsFace reported by SonarQube

An additional release was needed to address a few items. The changes went live on Monday, June 3. The changes included:

  • Removing the word "study" from the Agreement (DUA) and Data Safety panels introduced in the May release on the approvals list screen.
  • Fixing the direct link for the "Other support" download to properly link to the download screen.
  • Fixing a bug related to updating cost sharing amounts in a segment revision clearing the cost sharing data instead of saving the update.
